A beautifully atmospheric Swedish landscape by Arne Aspelin (1911–1990), painted in oil on panel and signed by the artist. Aspelin studied at the Skånska målarskolan in Malmö and in Paris, and his work encompassed landscapes and still lifes.
The painting features a calming palette of soft blues, greens, greys, pinks and whites, punctuated by a small pop of dark red on a house nestled within the landscape. Its subtle colours and painterly quality make it a lovely piece to live with, bringing colour and character to a room without overwhelming it.
Presented in its original oak frame, the painting is finished with a linen slip and delicate gold-tone metal trim, a considered combination that complements the artwork beautifully.
