A beautifully atmospheric Swedish oil on board painting, likely dating from the mid-century period. The composition captures a quiet rural farmyard scene with expressive, textured brushwork with a palette of warm cream, charcoal, burnt orange, muted pale blue, deep green and orange tones.
The painting has an almost abstract quality up close, while still retaining the warmth and character of a traditional countryside scene. It sits within its original gold-toned wooden frame, whose simple lines complement the understated charm of the artwork perfectly.
Some minor, age-related imperfections to the frame, which aren't noticeable close-up. Fixed with wire at the back, ready to hang and enjoy.
